Vendoset gurthemeli i shkollës së re “Nuhi Gashi” në Bradash të Podujevës

Bradash, Podujeva, 30 May 2025

Today, the Acting Prime Minister of the Republic of Kosovo, Albin Kurti, together with the Acting Minister of Education, Science, Technology and Innovation, Arbërie Nagavci, and the Mayor of the Municipality of Podujeva, Shpejtim Bulliqi, laid the foundation stone for the new building of the Lower Secondary School “Nuhi Gashi” in the village of Bradash.

The new school building, named after the dedicated teacher Nuhi Gashi, who was a fellow fighter of Shaban Polluzha, will cover an area of 1,330 m² and will include nine classrooms, a teachers’ lounge, dedicated rooms for natural and social sciences laboratories, administrative spaces, and modern toilets—including those adapted for children with special needs. This is a municipal investment by the Municipality of Podujeva valued at €624,249.74. Construction is expected to be completed within two years.

At the foundation-laying ceremony—attended by members of parliament, municipal directors, municipal assembly members, teachers, students, and residents of Bradash—the Prime Minister stated that the construction of the new school facility is great news for education, Bradash, Podujeva, and all the parents who will bring their children to “Nuhi Gashi” school. He thanked the municipality for the investment and the village for its contribution, interest, and commitment that made the foundation-laying possible.

The Minister of Education, Science, Technology and Innovation, Arbërie Nagavci, stated that in recent years, the Municipality of Podujeva has seen exceptional investment in improving school infrastructure. She noted that over €8.5 million have been invested by the Ministry of Education alone, resulting in the construction of five schools and three kindergartens. She also emphasized the importance of teachers giving their best so that alongside the modern infrastructure provided by the government and ministry, student performance improves as well.

Meanwhile, the Mayor of Podujeva, Shpejtim Bulliqi, noted that this is the ninth school building constructed in the past five years of governance, and that the municipality is working together with the Government and the Ministry of Education to continuously improve conditions for our students.

Full speech of Prime Minister Kurti:

Together with the Minister of Education, Science, Technology and Innovation, Arbërie Nagavci, we came to Bradash in Podujeva, where we were warmly welcomed by our host, the Mayor of the Municipality, Shpejtim Bulliqi, as well as MPs, municipal directors, municipal assembly members, teachers, students, and residents of Bradash, on the occasion of laying the foundation stone of the new school, which will have nine classrooms, a teachers’ lounge, and cost nearly €625,000. It will span a total area of 1,330 m², across two floors, and will include administrative spaces and modern toilets, including those for children with special needs.

This is great news for education, Bradash, Podujeva, and all the parents who will bring their children to “Nuhi Gashi” school—a school that carries the name of a devoted teacher and fellow fighter of Shaban Polluzha.

I thank the municipality and the village, because the entire investment comes from the Municipality of Podujeva, and the village has contributed, shown interest, and been committed to making this day of laying the foundation stone a reality. The construction work is expected to be completed within a maximum of two years, but together with the mayor, we will try to finish it even sooner.

Thank you! Congratulations and best wishes!
