The Government of the Republic of Kosovo is closely following the latest developments in the Republic of Macedonia, as a result of judgment against the defendants in the “Monster” case and civil protests that raised as a reaction to the judgements.
On this occasion, the Government of the Republic of Kosovo reiterates that political dialogue between communities and correct implementation of the Ohrid Agreement is the only way of solving the open issues between communities in Macedonia. Respect of institutional and constitutional fundamental rights is the only way to avoid violence escalation that could be pursued with serious consequences for the entire region.
The Republic of Kosovo is committed to the process of Euro-Atlantic integration and regional cooperation and calls upon all parties in the Republic of Macedonia to refrain from violence as means of resolving political issues.
The Albanians in Macedonia have their democratically elected representatives who have the obligation to institutionally address issues and concerns of the Albanian citizens.
The Government of the Republic of Kosovo once again calls on all parties involved for prudence and for finding a solution through mutual dialogue.
