Prime Minister of Kosovo, Hashim Thaci met with U.S. Congressmen Robert Aderholf, Bob McEwen and Trent Walters

In a meeting with Prime Minister Hashim Thaci, U.S. Congressmen Robert Aderholf, Bob McEwen and Trent Walters, who are participating in the Morning Prayer ceremony in Prishtina, discussed the current political, relations between the state of Kosovo and the United States of America, to further deepen these relationships, as well as the interstate dialogue between Kosovo and Serbia.

The Prime Minister presented to the U.S. Congressmen the achievements of the Republic of Kosovo after the declaration of Independence, focusing on reforms that have been, and continue to be implemented in politics, economy and legislation.

At the meeting, the Prime Minister reiterated the gratitude of the people and the Government of Kosovo for the continued support of the American people and US state institutions for Kosovo, since the process of liberation, independence and now in the process of state building and integration of Kosovo into Euro-Atlantic structures.

Speaking on reaching the agreement on the normalization of interstate relations between Kosovo and Serbia, the Prime Minister emphasized that this agreement is historic, as it was reached nearly 100 years of continuous conflict.

“The implementation of this agreement is in the interest of the European perspective of both countries and of the region as a whole, and in this regard the Government and all state institutions of Kosovo are set for its full implementation,” said the Prime Minister.

Reciprocally, the U.S. Congressmen expressed their support for the commitment of the Prime Minister and the Government of the Republic of Kosovo to strengthen good governance, rule of law and order, sustainable economic development and comprehensive institutional reforms in Kosovo.

They also stressed their support for the achieved interstate agreement between Kosovo and Serbia, considering it essential to accelerate the process of its implementation.

Praising the Morning Prayer organized by Kosovo institutions, the U.S. Congressmen stressed that the ceremony organized in Prishtina was among the best organized ceremonies in the Balkans so far.
