Minister for Dialogue Edita Tahiri, participated in the conference “Diplomatic Training and EU integration”, and on the front panel with the topic “European Union and Regional Cooperation” organized by the Diplomatic Academy of Kosovo, in cooperation with the Diplomatic Academy of Croatia and Montenegro.
Minister Tahiri during her speech spoke about the progress of Kosovo and European integration path in which case was said that by signing the Stabilization and Association Agreement with the European Union, finally opens Kosovo’s path towards membership in the European Union and this Agreement will have multidimensional positive , political, legal and economic effects for Kosovo.
She also stressed that progress in regional cooperation in the Western Balkans is closely related to progress in neighbourly relations between the countries and progress in European Union integration. She particularly stressed that the open issues in neighbourly relations should be resolved through dialogue and without hindering each other in European integration.
Minister for Dialogue Edita Tahiri, the conference put the focus on Brussels dialogue as a process that is helping to good neighbourly relations and regional stability.
The Minister, among others said that the dialogue that is taking place in Brussels between Kosovo and Serbia, with the mediation of the European Union and US support, has provided important results in some plans. Minister for Dialogue Edita Tahiri stated that Brussels Agreements have given Kosovo opportunity to extend its sovereignty in the northern part of the country; there has been suppression of parallel structures in many areas as well as reciprocity in relations between the two countries.
In her closing speech, Minister for Dialogue, stressed that Kosovo with the Brussels dialogue is being shown as a factor of peace and stability in the region, and the Brussels dialogue itself is regarded as the leading contributor to peace in the region.
