Prishtina, 12 June 2021

With a state ceremony, in the “Mother Teresa” square of the capital were commemorated the fallen NATO and KFOR soldiers in Kosovo.

On the occasion of marking the 22th anniversary of the Liberation of Kosovo, the President of the Republic of Kosovo, Vjosa Osmani Sadriu, the President of the Assembly of the Republic of Kosovo, Glauk Konjufca and the Prime Minister of the Republic of Kosovo, Albin Kurti placed flower crowns on the memorial in honor of fallen NATO soldiers.

Prime Minister Kurti in his speech said that in June 1999 we had fire on the sky and fire on the ground, but on June 12, NATO infantry joined the air intervention against Milosevic’s Yugoslavia to stop the genocide on the Albanian people.

“On June 12 we celebrate peace, liberation and freedom, and we remind ourselves this every day, because all those women and men who were sacrificed, gave their life, are in the foundations of our institutions, our state, our independence, which we want to move forward, with development, justice and democracy,” he said.

At the ceremony organized by the three highest institutions of the state, present were also the Defense Minister Armend Mehaj, KSF Commander, Lieutenant General Rrahman Rama and Deputy Commander of KFOR, Günter Schöpf.
