Prime Minister of the Republic of Kosovo, Albin Kurti, together with the Deputy Minister of Culture, Youth and Sports, Daulina Osmani, received in a meeting the absolute Nationwide Champion in Bodybuilding and Fitness, Mr Marin Meksi, at the same time diplomat with experience in diplomatic missions of the Republic of Albania.
Prime Minister Kurti congratulated Mr Meksi for his achievements in sports and diplomatic career in the affirmation of the Albanian nation. In particular, the Prime Minister congratulated him on the gold medal won at the “IFBB Pro Diamond Cup” in the category “Men’s Classic Bodybuilding up to 180cm”, a competition held in November 2021 in Portugal.
Mr Meksi thanked Prime Minister Kurti for the reception, which was followed by the decoration by the President of the Republic of Albania with the Order “Grand Master”. He congratulated the Prime Minister for the work, which he described as extraordinary work of the Government of the Republic of Kosovo.
During the meeting they talked about the excellent cooperation and joint successes of the Bodybuilding and Fitness federations of Albania and Kosovo and the commitment in promoting sports.
Also, Prime Minister Kurti unveiled the government’s commitment to the development of sports in the country. Mr Kurti emphasized: “In addition to the commitment to consolidate sports results in the international arena, with special emphasis, we are working on developing the concept of sports for all”.
Furthermore, he added: “With the dynamics of living nowadays, and the development and impact of technology, sport is the activity through which we will enable and ensure the development of physical, emotional and mental well-being of our society. We intend to do this through the connection of sports with the education system in our country”.
The cooperation between the Bodybuilding and Fitness Federation of Kosovo with the Ministry of Culture, Youth and Sports was appreciated, and the potential for achieving new successes in sports was emphasized.
The Deputy Minister of Culture, Youth and Sports, Daulina Osmani, announced that together with the Kosovo Olympic Committee, work is being done towards the functioning of anti-doping structures in Kosovo, an authority which is lacking in the sports system in our country.
In this joint meeting also participated Mr Arthur Bushati, Counselor at the Embassy of the Republic of Albania in Prishtina, Mr Rando Kukeli, General Secretary of the Bodybuilding Federation of the Republic of Albania, Mr Esat Lata, President of the Bodybuilding and Fitness Federation of Kosovo, Mr Sabri Dragusha, Secretary General of the Bodybuilding and Fitness Federation of Kosovo, Mr Bedri Cahani, former President of the Bodybuilding Federation of Kosovo and co-founder of the Federation of Albania and Mr Alban Hoti, associate of the Bodybuilding and Fitness Federation of Kosovo.
