The Prime Minister of the Republic of Kosovo, Albin Kurti, together with the Minister of Economy, Artane Rizvanolli and Minister of Finance, Labour and Transfers, Hekuran Murati, paid a visit to the Privatization Agency of Kosovo.
During the meeting with the Board of the Kosovo Privatization Agency, chaired by Mr. Nazmi Mikollovci, it was discussed the work done since August of the previous year, following the appointment of the new Board by the Assembly of the Republic of Kosovo.
The Prime Minister pointed out that together they have achieved some very valuable successes for the public, state and economic interest of Kosovo.
He extended the full support of the Government for the work of PAK, as well the commitment to face challenges, the willingness and sharing the experiences and knowledge.
During the meeting it was also discussed about the Strategy for the conclusion of the Privatization Agency of Kosovo processes, which has already been drafted, as well as the way forward towards the establishment of the Sovereign Fund.
Recently, the Government of the Republic of Kosovo received from the Working Group the final draft of the Concept Document for the Establishment of the Sovereign Fund of the Republic of Kosovo.
This document constitutes the conceptual and strategic basis for the establishment of the Sovereign Fund, including the concept and steps for establishing the legal and institutional basis of the Fund.
In parallel with the work of this Working Group, the Board of PAK has managed to record in a common register a total of 2364 assets of PAK, where, following a detailed specific analysis, it has been concluded that 1653 of them will be transferred to the Sovereign Fund, whereas 771 will remain under the PAK portfolio.
The Chairperson of the Board of PAK, Nazmi Mikullovci, informed that spending cuts have already been made in the total amount of more than 2 million and 600 thousand euros. This was considered as a very valuable and useful achievement for the Agency and Budget of the Republic of Kosovo.
The activation of the Socially Owned Enterprise “Brezovica”, which has already been operationalized in full compliance with the legal system of Kosovo, was highly praised.
Fiscalization within the law and formalization of this enterprise were considered as preconditions for opening the way for investment for this very important tourist centre for Kosovo, with great potential for Kosovo.
The Chairperson of the Board of PAK, Nazmi Mikullovci, thanked the Prime Minister and Ministers for the visit and the meeting, as well as for the support provided by the Government for the work and actions in recent months.
At the end of the meeting it was emphasized that the institutional cooperation and coordination would enable the overcoming of challenges and establishment of a development basis for the Republic of Kosovo.
