On the 40th anniversary of the assassination of Jusuf and Bardhosh Gërvalla and Kadri Zeka, the Prime Minister of the Republic of Kosovo, Albin Kurti, together with the President of the Republic of Kosovo, Vjosa Osmani Sadriu, paid a visit to the tower of the Gërvalla family in Dubovik.
They were hosted by Ms. Suzana Gërvalla, Jusuf Gërvalla’s wife and Ms. Donika Gërvalla, his daughter, as well as family and friends of prominent activists of the national cause.

After that, Prime Minister Kurti, President Osmani and Deputy Prime Minister Gërvalla paid a tribute and laid wreaths at the graves of Jusuf and Bardhosh Gërvalla.

“We came today to Dubovik, on the 40th anniversary of the triple assassination in Stuttgart, on January 17, 1982, when Kadri Zeka and Jusuf and Bardhosh Gërvalla were assassinated, to visit the tower of their birth, life and growth, but also the grave where they rest, to show the indelible memory and endless reverence we have for these heroes, who prove to us a war even before the liberation war. Since in the ’80s, Albanians were not only persecuted and imprisoned, but also killed by the then occupier regime, because they wanted freedom, republic, democracy and progress,” said the prime minister.

As institutions of the Republic, as the Government of Kosovo, we will cooperate with other countries, in particular with the Federal Republic of Germany, in order to find out as much as possible and to clarify the truth regarding both the ordering people and the executors, whose conviction and orientation and the center of which of course is known, but the individual names of those of course should be found out and thus enable justice and punishment, he said.

Prime Minister Kurti stressed that we are aware of the restrictions we have, so as to be able after so long to solve all those murders, since they are numerous, while the regimes that took part in those murders, have not eventually and fully fallen.

In honor of the three prominent activists of the national cause, the Prime Minister of the Republic of Kosovo, today, on the 40th anniversary of their assassination, organizes the Memorial Academy in Prishtina.
