Yesterday was held the next round of dialogue on issues of telecom with mediation of the European Union. The delegation of the Republic of Kosovo, headed by Minister for Dialogue, Edita Tahiri, in bilateral meetings with the mediator of the EU discussed the issue of unblocking the telephone code for Kosovo, stressing that Serbia was violating the agreement on telecoms, according to which Kosovo before several months had to receive telephone code from the ITU.

Minister Tahiri in this case also confirmed that Kosovo has met all its obligations for the agreement for the telephone code on time and properly, but delays are made by Serbia on time and properly that Serbia has so far shown no political will to meet implementing obligations. She asked the European Union to step up efforts to unlock the issue and Kosovo as soon as possible to get the code from the ITU, and stressed taking into account the issue of telecom is over five years at the negotiating table, clearly shows the unwillingness of Serbia for the telecom agreement and it seems only through a powerful intervention of the EU can make this agreement to be implemented.

Meetings were held during the whole day, mainly in bilateral format. On the basis of bilateral discussions held, EU mediator, Nicholas Cendrowicz assessed that the talks have created space for the continuation of the meeting that is expected to happen next week.
