Prime Minister of Kosovo, Hashim Thaçi received today in a meeting a senior delegation of the Egyptian Council for Foreign Affairs who is visiting the Republic of Kosovo. At the meeting, they discussed the current political developments in Kosovo and the region and cooperation between Kosovo and Egypt.
The Prime Minister Thaçi highly appreciated the importance of relations between the state of Kosovo and Egypt, highlighting the focus of the Government in further development these relations in the field of politics and diplomacy, economy, education, science and culture.
Kosovo Government deems the importance of recognizing the state of Kosovo by Egypt. This recognition will have positive reflections on Kosovo through strengthening of partnerships with other states of the Arab League, African and the Organization for Islamic Cooperation, said Prime Minister Thaçi.
During the meeting with the senior delegation of the Egyptian Council for Foreign Affairs, Prime Minister Thaçi spoke about inter-state agreement between Kosovo and Serbia, noting that the Government of the Republic of Kosovo and international partners are committed to the full implementation of the agreement. This process is at the service of strengthening peace, stability and regional cooperation and is in full compliance with the Constitution and laws of Kosovo, stressed Mr. Thaçi.
At the meeting with Prime Minister Thaçi, the head of Delegation of Egyptian Council for Foreign Affairs, Ambassador Mahmoud Mohamed Ibrahim Shaker, expressed the support of the people and of the Government of Egypt to the people and Government of Kosovo.
“I promise you that recognition from Egypt will come very soon and diplomatic ties between the two states will be established”, said Mr. Shaker.
