At the reception organized by the Embassy of Switzerland in Kosovo, for the national holiday of the Helvetic Confederation, Prime Minister Albin Kurti expressed his heartiest congratulations on the occasion of the 731st anniversary of the heroic oath for the creation of the Helvetic Confederation.
As a young country, we value extremely highly the Raison d’Etre of Switzerland, and we try to learn as much as possible from the commitment and effort of the Swiss people, for freedom, independence, democracy and human rights, said Prime Minister Kurti.
He expressed gratitude for the Swiss help and support in increasing economic and social well-being in Kosovo.
We never forget and are eternally grateful for the popular and state solidarity of Switzerland in the most difficult period of the people of Kosovo, either with direct aid or for hosting tens of thousands of refugees from Kosovo during the 1998-1999 war, as well as for diplomatic action of the Swiss Confederation, which was among the first states to recognize the independence of the Republic of Kosovo, on February 27, 2008, said the Prime Minister.
Saying that we are happy with every success and commitment of our compatriots for increasing well-being and raising the image of Switzerland, he emphasized that we are also proud of their contribution in the political, economic, sports, science, art and other fields of Swiss society.
