Prime Minister Kurti was welcomed in a bilateral meeting by the Chancellor of Austria, Karl Nehammer

In the capital of Austria, with a state ceremonial guard ceremony, the Prime Minister of the Republic of Kosovo, Albin Kurti, was welcomed by the Chancellor of Austria, Karl Nehammer for a bilateral meeting.

Grateful for the invitation and hospitality in his first visit abroad for this year, Prime Minister Kurti expressed his gratitude for Austria’s contribution to the peace, security and development of our country and the region, and for the continuous support to the Republic of Kosovo.

“Austria is a close friend and important partner of Kosovo. It has helped us in our efforts for liberation and to ensure peace, together with the Austrian soldiers who have served for many years in the NATO mission in Kosovo, and for decades it has supported Kosovo, especially in the education system”, said the Prime Minister When you.

They discussed the already excellent bilateral relations between the two countries and the possibilities of their further growth and strengthening in all areas, with an emphasis on economic cooperation and trade exchange. On this occasion, Prime Minister Kurti invited Chancellor Nehammer to join one of the many Austrian economic delegations that will visit Kosovo this year.

Prime Minister Kurti informed Chancellor Nehammer about the Government’s work so far within its reform agenda and integration agenda. He also informed the Chancellor about the proactive, constructive and creative approach of Kosovo in the dialogue process with Serbia, underlining that the dialogue should produce an agreement for the full normalization of relations between the two countries with mutual recognition at the center.

It was also discussed about Russia’s military aggression on Ukraine, and about the danger of Russia’s malignant influence in the Western Balkans through various actors.

During his one-day stay in Austria, Prime Minister Kurti will also take part in the discussion on “The Western Balkans: a central part of lasting peace in Europe”, organized by the Diplomatic Academy of Vienna, the Austrian Institute for European and Security Policy and the Embassy of Republic of Kosovo in Austria. In this official visit, together with Prime Minister Kurti, the Minister of Culture, Youth and Sports, Harjulla Çeku, is participating.
