In the 22nd edition of the international agribusiness and food fair “AGROKOS”, which is being held under the patronage of the Prime Minister’s Office, the Prime Minister of the Republic of Kosovo, Albin Kurti, visited the agribusinesses participating in the fair.
Prime Minister Kurti visited the stands of local producers and talked with them about increasing production, increasing the quality of local products, the potential for further development and penetrating international markets. He reiterated the support of the Government of the Republic of Kosovo for initiatives that promote the agro-food sector and increase the possibilities of economic empowerment in the agricultural sector.
The representatives of agri-businesses talked with the prime minister about the opportunities that the fair offers for networking and cooperation between local agri-businesses and those of the countries of the region, as well as the deepening of cooperation between the public and private sectors..
Together with the Minister of Agriculture, Forestry and Rural Development, Faton Peci and Deputy Minister Imri Demelezi, Prime Minister Kurti emphasized the Government’s intentions to transform the agro-rural economy, making it more comprehensive, productive, sustainable and competitive in the domestic and external market.
With these goals, the Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Rural Development, within the Direct Payments/Subsidies Program for 2022, has planned over 52 million euros of financial support for the support of crops and agricultural and livestock activities, of which they have already been completed payments in the amount of about 42 million euros. While more than 26 million euros have been allocated within the Rural Development Program / Grants in Agriculture.
