Prime Minister Kurti visited the counseling center for women

Support for women and girls and their economic empowerment were at the center of the visit of the Prime Minister of the Republic of Kosovo, Albin Kurti, to the Consulting Center for Women.

The importance of cooperation between the Government and non-governmental organizations was emphasized in the meeting with Mrs. Sanija Murati, director of the non-governmental organization “Lady”. The necessity of joint initiatives to advance development and equality in our country was emphasized. It was said that there can be no equality in society without gender equality.

Within the framework of the Economic Revival Package, special attention has been given to the empowerment of women in the economy and society, said Prime Minister Kurti. He emphasized the actions undertaken by the Government, such as Measure 1.3 Support of Women’s Employment, within which there were 3,571 beneficiary workers and 1,490 beneficiary businesses; as well as measure 2.1.2 Support of businesses owned by women, where we have had 43 approvals so far. In total, the value of the subsidy is 491,988 euros, while the value of the enabled credit exceeds 3 million euros.

In this meeting, it was discussed about the work of the counseling center for women towards the achievement of professional and personal competences of women and girls, creating opportunities for integration in society through socio-economic projects.
