At the invitation of the Hungarian embassy in Kosovo, the Prime Minister of the Republic of Kosovo, Albin Kurti, participated yesterday in marking the National Day of Hungary.

Addressing the attendees, Prime Minister Kurti expressed his happiness that he is among them to mark this important day, the day when Hungary was declared a republic.

“Today, as we celebrate the establishment of the Republic of Hungary and commemorate the revolution, we must gather the strength and power to rise together in defense of democracy and support with all means the people and leaders who stand up against oppression and fight for freedom and self-determination” said the prime minister.

On this important day for Hungary, the prime minister thanked the Hungarian soldiers, part of the KFOR mission, for their contribution to peace, freedom and security, humanity and democracy.

As one of the first countries to recognize the independence of the Republic of Kosovo, Prime Minister Kurti expressed his gratitude and the willingness of the Government of the Republic of Kosovo to find ways to advance bilateral relations.

“We are working and cooperating on many different initiatives and projects of common interest. While Hungarian soldiers guarantee peace in Kosovo, we are grateful that our students are learning and receiving knowledge from the best Hungarian universities, and that we have a hard-working and well-integrated diaspora there that brings us closer to each other,” stated Prime Minister Kurti.

In the end, as he wished all the best to Hungary and the Hungarian people, he added that strengthening and intensifying relations between the two countries is our commitment and goal.
