Prime Minister Kurti met with the rapporteur in the European Parliament on the issue of visa liberalization for Kosovo, MEP Reuten

The second day of the official visit to Strasbourg for the Prime Minister of the Republic of Kosovo, Albin Kurti, began with a meeting with the rapporteur in the European Parliament on the issue of visa liberalization for Kosovo, as well as the MEP from the Progressive Alliance of Socialists and Democrats (S&D) ), Thijs Reuten.

The Dutch MEP congratulated the Republic of Kosovo for the progress in the implementation of reforms of the European agenda and governing policies as well as the progress made in economic development, democratization and rule of law.

Prime Minister Kurti expressed his gratitude for his continuous support and that of the Progressive Alliance of Socialists and Democrats (S&D) for our country in the matter of visa liberalization, application for EU membership, and our general European journey.

The step taken by Kosovo, with the application for membership in the EU, was an important topic of discussion, where it was emphasized that it was natural, the will of the citizens and the next evidence of the country’s orientation towards the values of democratic and European standards. MEP Reuten said that it is important to give the citizens of Kosovo a European perspective and to move forward towards a credible process based on meritocracy and a record of progress.

Inviting MEP Reuten to visit our country in the coming months, Prime Minister Kurti thanked him for the frequent, productive and fruitful meetings and discussions with him and the social democratic MEPs.

At the meeting, together with Prime Minister Kurti, the ambassador of Kosovo in Brussels, Agron Bajrami, and the deputy minister of Foreign Affairs and Diaspora, Kreshnik Ahmeti, were present.
