Within the framework of the World Economic Forum in Davos, the Prime Minister of the Republic of Kosovo, Albin Kurti, met the President of the Democratic Republic of East Timor, José Manuel Ramos Horta and the Minister for Foreign Affairs and Cooperation, Adaljiza Magno.
The meeting highlighted the unique relationship between Kosovo and East Timor as well as the similar history of foreign rule in both states.
Prime Minister Kurti thanked President Ramos Horta for the support given to the Republic of Kosovo. The signing of the agreement on the establishment of diplomatic relations, signed on March 9, 2022 between the Republic of Kosovo and the Democratic Republic of East Timor, was highlighted. With this signing, it was said that the distance between the two countries has been shortened and the path of cooperation has been opened.
It was said that as two of the youngest countries in the world, which share the same values of freedom and democracy, Kosovo and East Timor should cooperate more closely in the exchange of experiences of state building and international recognition.
