Prishtina, 8 March, 2023

On International Women’s Day, the Prime Minister of the Republic of Kosovo, Albin Kurti, accompanied by the Minister of Finance, Labor and Transfers, Hekuran Murati, visited the “Premium Bakery” factory. There he met and talked with the employees supported through the Economic Revival Package.

The Prime Minister saw the work of the factory closely and was informed by the manager, Besart Shatri, about the work process, production and the increase in employment in this factory.

He said that this company is characterized by high-quality products and the recent increase in production, including an increase in exports.

“We discussed how they can help this factory, so that production increases, employment increases, where it should be noted that many state institutions, such as hospitals and prisons, are supplied with the products of “Premium Bakery”, said the Prime Minister. He added that the state, as a guarantor of legality, as a supporter of development, should cooperate as closely as possible with the private sector, so that enterprises grow, the economy grows and, consequently, the well-being of citizens.

He further added that this is a very successful enterprise, to which we are grateful for the products on our table, but also for the contribution to our economy.

Prime Minister Kurti’s complete statement:

Together with the Minister of Finance, Labor and Transfers, Mr. Hekuran Murati, we came today to visit the “Premium Bakery” factory, which is characterized by high-quality products and the recent increase in production, including an increase in exports.

There are over 200 workers directly in this factory, but also another 80 indirectly, who work in two shifts, and during the summer in three shifts, in which case there are a total of 100 different products, where there are six production lines, in a total of over 1700 points of sale throughout Kosovo, which are supplied. If the premises are also included, then there are more than 3000. A very successful enterprise, to which we are grateful for the products on our table, but also for the contribution to our economy.

Since today is March 8, International Women’s Day, I take the opportunity to mention the fact that the measures of the Ministry of Finance to help employees for the Economic Revival Package, the women workers in this factory have also benefited.

We, in addition to having the pleasure of trying and tasting the products, at the same time also discussed how they can help this factory, so that production increases, employment increases, where it should be noted that many state institutions, such as for example, hospitals and prisons are supplied with “Premium Bakery” products

We want the state, as a guarantor of legality, as a supporter of development, to cooperate as closely as possible with the private sector, so that they grow, the economy grows and, consequently, the well-being of citizens.
