Prime Minister Kurti met Sir Stuart Peach, the United Kingdom’s special envoy for the Western Balkans

The Prime Minister of the Republic of Kosovo, Albin Kurti, received the United Kingdom’s Special Envoy for the Western Balkans, Sir Stuart Peach.

The commitment of the Government of the Republic of Kosovo on the way to the full normalization of relations between Kosovo and Serbia with mutual recognition at the center, the implementation of the energy roadmap and current issues, were among the topics of the meeting.

Sir Stuart Peach reiterated the United Kingdom’s commitment to peace and stability in the Western Balkans, as well as to regional cooperation initiatives.

Emphasizing the importance of visa liberalization for the citizens of Kosovo, Prime Minister Kurti reiterated the Government’s intention and commitment to become part of the European Union and NATO.

Regarding the Russian invasion and military aggression in Ukraine, the economic and energy consequences of the Russian aggression were highlighted. Prime Minister Kurti informed the emissary Peach about the measures taken by the Government, in support of the citizens, through the Package for Dealing with Inflation as well as the Economic Revival Package.

There was talk about regional cooperation and the Common Regional Market within the Berlin Process. Also, there was talk about the Western Balkans Summit “The Western Balkans Summit 2022”, organized by The Economist, in cooperation with the Office of the Prime Minister of the Republic of Kosovo, which will be held tomorrow in Pristina.
