The Prime Minister of the Republic of Kosovo, Albin Kurti, accompanied by the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs and Diaspora, Kreshnik Ahmeti, welcomed the Special Envoy of the United Kingdom for the Western Balkans, Lord Stuart Peach, who was accompanied by the Ambassador of the United Kingdom to Kosovo, Nicholas Abbott.
In the first meeting this year, Prime Minister Kurti and Lord Peach discussed the cooperation so far and the new opportunities during 2023. Prime Minister Kurti emphasized the excellent bilateral relations and the importance of the United Kingdom’s support for the Republic of Kosovo, especially in the field of security.
They also discussed the challenges facing the Western Balkans region, the danger posed by Russia’s influence to security and progress, and the important role of NATO in preventing and reversing Moscow’s intentions for our region. Prime Minister Kurti said that there is democratic, legal, economic and social progress in Kosovo, which must be protected together with partners and allies.
He also expressed his gratitude for the active engagement of the United Kingdom in the integration processes of the Republic of Kosovo.
