The Prime Minister of the Republic of Kosovo, Albin Kurti, met today the Head of the OSCE Mission in Kosovo, Ambassador Michael Davenport and the Ambassador of Switzerland in Kosovo, Thomas Kolly, with whom he discussed the establishment of the Translation, Harmonization and Language Control Unit within the Office of the Prime Minister.
Prime Minister Kurti confirmed the Government’s commitment to the establishment of the translation unit, this new unit that will ensure the quality of translations within the Government, in all official languages in the Republic of Kosovo.
Quality translation provides easier access to justice for all citizens of the Republic of Kosovo. In order to find the best solution in the service of the functionality of the office, the OSCE has produced a report that will be examined by the working group. In this regard, the Prime Minister emphasized that the working group led by the Language Commissioner, Slavisa Mladenović, should act on the basis of the legislation in force on the Organization and Functioning of the State Administration, and taking into account the internal reorganization process of the Office of Prime Minister.
The Prime Minister thanked the ambassadors for their dedication and quality cooperation in the framework of the establishment of the Unit for translation, harmonization and linguistic control.
