The Prime Minister of the Republic of Kosovo, Albin Kurti, together with the Deputy Minister of Education, Science, Technology and Innovation Edona Maloku Bërdyna, welcomed Dr. Moshe Landsman, the co-founder of the Department of Psychology at the University of Pristina ‘Hasan Prishtina’, accompanied by Jeta Deva from the National Association of Autism in Kosovo and the professors of the University of Pristina, Mytaher Haskuka and Njomza Llullaku.
This meeting comes after the solemn ceremony of this week when the Ministry of Education, Science, Technology and Innovation appreciated Dr. Landsman with an honorary award for his outstanding contribution to the development of education in Kosovo, with special emphasis on the field of psychology.
In a friendly meeting, the importance of the work of Dr. Landsman, who, in addition to the academic field, has also helped in the establishment of various mental health centers in Kosovo, providing ongoing professional support for psychology professionals in the country.
Dr. Landsman, now retired, has had a valuable career as a professor and psychologist in Israel since the 1970s, while his connection to Kosovo dates back to the post-war period when he first came to help survivors of sexual violence during the war. In the Department of Psychology of the University of Pristina, the first post-war in Kosovo, Dr. Landsman has been a professor for many years and has left his mark on the graduation of many generations of psychology students.
Prime Minister Kurti thanked Dr. Landsman for his key contribution to the establishment and development of the field of Psychology which is of fundamental importance to the well-being and development of society.
The Deputy Minister of Education, on the other hand, as a psychologist who came from the first generation of this department, spoke about the inspiring model that Dr. Landsman has left especially what concerns the cultivation of commitment to the common good.
