In the farewell meeting with the commander of KFOR, Major General Ferenc Kajári, at the end of his mandate in Kosovo, the Prime Minister of the Republic of Kosovo, Albin Kurti, thanked him for his commitment and dedication in the service of peace and stability in the country.
On behalf of the Government of the Republic of Kosovo, Prime Minister Kurti expressed gratitude for his contribution to keeping our country safe.
He emphasized that during his mandate, there is a significant increase in cooperation between KFOR and Kosovo’s security institutions. The Prime Minister highly appreciated the cooperation during this time, especially in the reduction of tensions in the northern part of our country.
Your great experience and leadership played a very important role in handling the situation and maintaining cohesion in KFOR, despite the challenges, said Prime Minister Kurti.
Major General Kajári thanked the Prime Minister for the open discussion and the demonstrated readiness for cooperation. He also appreciated the cooperation with the institutions of order and security in Kosovo.
It was emphasized that Major General Kajari’s mission in Kosovo began at the same time when the global security environment began to change dramatically due to the rise of Russian expansionist policy, which culminated in the military aggression in Ukraine at the beginning of this year.
Prime Minister Kurti reiterated that the Republic of Kosovo is committed to its path towards Euro-Atlantic integration. Mentioning that last year Kosovo participated in Defender Europe 21 and that for the first time it began to make a military contribution to peace and security, deploying military personnel in the Middle East, side by side with our allies, Prime Minister Kurti emphasized that Kosovo will continue to do this in the future.
Wishing him all the best, Prime Minister Kurti said he hopes that Major General Kajári will return for a visit, as a friend who made a very important contribution to Kosovo.
