The Prime Minister of the Republic of Kosovo, Albin Kurti, hosted the business delegation from Austria in a meeting today – within the “Opportunities in Energy Projects in Kosovo” program.
In the meeting attended by the Chief of Staff of the Prime Minister, Luan Dalipi, as well as the Deputy Minister of the Ministry of Economy, Getoar Mjeku, as he welcomed the attendees, Prime Minister Kurti in his address singled out the priority that the Government is giving to investments and the development of significant renewable energy potential of the country.
Speaking about the Energy Strategy that was recently approved in the Assembly, he informed the delegation present that the Government intends to diversify energy within 10 years by adding 1300 new megawatts installed from renewable energy sources. An important component needed to build the energy infrastructure of the future is the participation of the private sector, he added.
He said that during the last two years, continuous work has been done to improve the business environment in Kosovo, making it one of the most competitive in the region.
Easy and fast business registration procedures, favorable tax policies, legal system and transparent laws for foreign investments, in addition to the very good geographical position, young workforce and democratic progress in the country, were some of the features that Prime Minister Kurti he mentioned to the representatives of businesses, which make Kosovo attractive and a suitable destination for foreign and local investors, especially in the field of renewable resources.
Prime Minister Kurti also emphasized that based on the economic indicators of the last two years, Kosovo is increasingly becoming an export-based economy. Furthermore, he said that he believes that the success story of Kosovo, which combines economy and democracy, is an important platform for investors.
He welcomed the interest, visit and participation of businesses from Austria in initiatives and programs like this one today, and others to come.
