He appreciated the cooperation so far and the contribution of President Meta for Kosovo and emphasized the importance of Albania’s support in the processes of Kosovo’s membership in the Partnership for Peace Program of NATO, the Adriatic Charter, the Council of Europe and the application for membership in the European Union.

Speaking about the concrete cooperation between the two republics, the prime minister emphasized the importance of the project for the Durrës-Prishtina railway, the importance of cooperation in the field of energy, investments in agriculture, and especially the importance of investments in defence and security, as a matter of sovereignty, for which he requested the cooperation of both countries in this regard.

The Prime Minister recalled that the visit of President Meta coincides with the anniversary of the opinion of the International Court of Justice for Kosovo, where it became clear that the declaration of independence of Kosovo did not violate the international law.

President Meta thanked the Prime Minister for the reception and emphasized that Kosovo has become an example of democracy in the region, which has also been evaluated by international reports.

Regarding regional cooperation, President Meta said that only comprehensive initiatives should be supported, with equal treatment and clear leadership, such as the Berlin Process.

Reiterating the good bilateral relations, they agreed that there should be more coordination in foreign and regional policy, in accordance with the democratic orientation, the common goal of membership in the European Union and the strengthening of the North-Atlantic alliance.
