The Prime Minister of the Republic of Kosovo, Albin Kurti, hosted today the Deputy Assistant Secretary of the United States for European and Eurasian Affairs and at the same time the special envoy of the United States of America for the Western Balkans, Gabriel Escobar.
Today’s meeting was in the framework of the announced visit of the Senior Advisor of the US Department of State, Derek Chollet, who, because he tested positive for COVID-19, was unable to make his visit.
Prime Minister Kurti first wished Mr. Chollet a speedy recovery, as he welcomed Mr. Escobar.
The current situation and recent developments were discussed, especially in the northern part of the Republic of Kosovo. It was emphasized that the barricades on the road should be removed immediately.
The meeting also discussed the relations between Kosovo and Serbia, the dialogue process and the way forward towards the full normalization of relations between the two countries.
