Prime Minister Kurti hosted Ambassador McKee at the meeting

The Prime Minister of the Republic of Kosovo, Albin Kurti, hosted the Assistant Administrator for Europe and Eurasia at USAID, Ambassador Erin E. McKee.

The Government of the Republic of Kosovo shares common values, orientations and interests with the United States of America, said Prime Minister Kurti. He added that with the American people we share strong common convictions for freedom, justice and democracy.

Emphasizing the strong partnership between the Republic of Kosovo and the USA, they discussed the possibilities of expanding ties and deepening cooperation, in the service of both countries and both peoples on the basis of the values and beliefs we share.

In the joint meeting with the US Ambassador, Jeffrey Hovenier, Lisa Magno from USAID for Europe and Eurasia, as well as Zeinah Salahi, director of USAID in Kosovo, talked about the USAID projects that are being implemented in our country, as well as for new cooperation opportunities. Together with the Deputy Prime Minister Besnik Bislimi, the Minister of Finance, Labor and Transfers, Hekuran Murati and the Minister of Economy, Artane Rizvanolli, he talked about the progress made in the areas of justice, economy, democracy, energy and governance.

Prime Minister Kurti informed Ambassador McKee about the latest economic and democratic indicators, about progress in the rule of law and the fight against corruption, the current and further reforms in the justice system and the legal framework, good governance and the Government’s plans for investments in energy sector.

Gratitude was reiterated for USAID’s assistance to Kosovo, which to date amounts to more than 1 billion dollars, and which includes each phase of our new history as a state and each sector of our country’s development.
