Prime Minister Kurti hosted a delegation from EBRD at the meeting

The Prime Minister of the Republic of Kosovo, Albin Kurti, hosted the delegation from the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD), headed by Mark Bowman, EBRD deputy President for Policy and Partnerships, Oleg Levitin, Deputy Director for Governance and Policy Affairs, as well as Neil Taylor, Resident Leader of the EBRD Office in Kosovo.

Emphasizing that the EBRD remains one of the main development partners of the Republic of Kosovo, Prime Minister Kurti thanked them on behalf of the Government for their continuous support.

In the joint meeting with the First Deputy Prime Minister, Besnik Bislimi and the Minister of Finance, Labor and Transfers, Hekuran Murati, they talked about current projects and the possibilities of deepening cooperation for the future.

It was said that despite the challenges, the economy is stable and is constantly expanding, also influenced by the Economic Revival Package. The support for local producers, the increase in subsidies in agriculture and the subsidization of electricity prices were singled out. The establishment of the Commercial Court was also singled out.

Emphasizing that the rule of law and transparency are essential for a good investment climate, it was said that the Government remains committed to this throughout the mandate.

They also talked about the impact of the Russian aggression against Ukraine, on the increase in the prices of food, fuel and energy. It was emphasized that the Government is supporting citizens and businesses in facing of inflation with a number of measures.

Reiterating that the Government of the Republic of Kosovo remains committed to the transition to green energy, Prime Minister Kurti thanked the EBRD, which, along with partners such as MCC, KfW and EIB, support us in this direction.

In this meeting, it was emphasized that international partners have played a key role in pushing our agenda forward in terms of improving the business environment and improving the lives of our citizens in general.
