Prime Minister Kurti held a telephone conversation with Sir Stuart Peach, the United Kingdom’s special envoy for the Western Balkans

The Prime Minister of the Republic of Kosovo, Albin Kurti, had a telephone conversation with the United Kingdom’s Special Envoy for the Western Balkans, Sir Stuart Peach.

On behalf of the Government of the Republic of Kosovo, Prime Minister Kurti expressed his condolences for the passing of Her Majesty, Queen Elizabeth II.

Talking about the Western Balkans, the importance of more coordination in regional politics was emphasized, with the common goal of membership in the European Union and the strengthening of the North-Atlantic alliance, for peace and security in the region and more widely.

Prime Minister Kurti emphasized the commitment of the Government to become part of the Partnership for Peace Program of NATO, until we become a full member of NATO. Regarding the Russian invasion and military aggression in Ukraine, the Prime Minister emphasized that the Republic of Kosovo has coordinated its foreign policy with the European Union.

Discussing the economic and energy consequences of the Russian aggression, Prime Minister Kurti informed the emissary Peach about the measures taken by the Government, in support of the citizens, through the Economic Revival Package, to deal with inflation, as well as the introduced subsidy measures for energy efficiency for the citizens.
