Kosovo receives grants from the Investment Framework of the Western Balkans, in the amount of 57.6 million euros

The Operational Board of the Western Balkans Investment Framework (WBIF) has approved three applications for funds from the Republic of Kosovo, enabling the benefit of grants in the total value of 57.6 million euros.

This includes the grant for the preparation of the project for social housing in the amount of 2.08 million euros, which will be used for the preparation of investments that have a total value of 47.5 million euros. Also, the investment grant for the solar park in KEK in the amount of 33.07 million euros, as part of the investments that have a total value of 103.33 million euros. The third grant is the investment for central heating in the capital city, in the amount of 22.47 million euros, as part of the investments that have a total value of 76.368 million euros.

The projects, for which the grants have been obtained, will be realized in combination with the loans that will be obtained from the supporting banks for these projects, such as the Development Bank of the Council of Europe (CEB), the German Development Bank (KfW), the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) and the European Investment Bank (EIB).

The Western Balkans Investment Framework (WBIF) is a joint initiative of the EU, financial institutions and bilateral donors, which aims to increase cooperation and coordination in terms of investments aimed at socio-economic development and contributing to the European perspective of countries of the Western Balkans.
