Children and young people are our government’s priority”, said the Prime Minister of the Republic of Kosovo, Albin Kurti, at the kindergarten laying foundation stone ceremony in the village of Miresh, Municipality of Gjilan.

This kindergarten is an investment of the Ministry of Education, Science, Technology and Information, and will have an area of 708 square meters, suitable for 60 children. Three rooms will be for 0 to 2-year-old children, two rooms for 3 to 4-year-old children, a hall for caring staff, administration, kitchen, as well as technical spaces.

Accompanied by the Minister of Education, Science, Technology and Innovation, Arbërie Nagavci, the Minister of Agriculture, Forestry and Rural Development, Faton Peci, and MPs of the Assembly of the Republic of Kosovo, the Prime Minister stated that they have come together and are very happy about this good news for our little ones, to whom we owe a better and safer life.

He stated that it has been proven by countless studies that both early and quality education is determined by the success and achievements in the future professional life of children, and we have therefore pledged to commit ourselves to supporting the education sector, and especially the development of education in early childhood.

From Mireshi, Prime Minister Kurti announced that kindergartens for children will be opened in Prizren and Suhareka by the end of the year, while in the course of works for the construction and adaptation of spaces, kindergartens are also expected to be opened in Skenderaj, Obiliq, Peja, Prishtina, Junik, Gjakova, Gjilan, Ferizaj, Shtime and Malisheva.

The Minister of Education, Science, Technology and Innovation, Arbërie Nagavci, said in her speech that early childhood development is one of the important points of the government’s program. She recalled that contracts for the construction of five kindergartens were signed just in September, while she emphasized that we intend to have as many kindergartens as possible in the villages to give these children the opportunity to have access to early education and, as consequently, to the development of the family.

Contracts for the construction of five new kindergartens were signed in the end of September in Prishtina, Gjilan, Gjakova, Kamenica and Miresh in Gjilan the foundation stone of which was laid today.

Full speech of the Prime Minister of the Republic of Kosovo, Albin Kurti:

Honourable Mayor of the Municipality of Gjilan, Mr. Alban Hyseni,

Honourable Minister of the Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Rural Development, Mr. Faton Peci,
Dear MPs of the Assembly of the Republic of Kosovo, Arjeta Rexhepi, Hydajet Hyseni, Arbëreshë Kryeziu, Shqipe Selimi, Labinote Murtezi and Luan Aliu,

As you can see, we are here with two Ministers and six MPs of the Assembly of the Republic in good news like this one today, we have come together and we are very happy when we know that it is good news for our little ones. To those to whom we owe a better and safer life.

So, dear Director, sisters and brothers, ladies and gentlemen, dear residents of the village, we have come here for you, so this too, first and foremost, is dedicated to you and your future, namely your children.

In our country, we need to increase the number of kindergartens, to improve access and inclusion in education. Children and young people are a priority of our Government. We are committed to supporting the education sector, especially the development of early childhood education.

It has been proven by countless studies that both early and quality education is determined by the success and achievements in the future professional life of children when they grow up, go to school and university and work on their profiles.

This has been our commitment and our commitment becomes our work, and our work becomes yours.

In addition to the construction of new kindergartens, we are also working on adapting the existing spaces and improving the conditions and teaching facilities. We are looking forward to the finalization of the kindergartens in Prizren and Suhareka by the end of the year because I was in Gjilan on Monday, I came again today, and I am sorry I cannot make it tomorrow. But one might think that I am staying only in Gjilan, but it is not true. I was in Peja yesterday. We will open kindergartens Prizren and Suhareka by the end of the year, while in the course of works for the construction and adaptation of spaces, kindergartens are also expected to be opened in Skenderaj, Obiliq, Peja, Prishtina, Junik, Gjakova, Gjilan, Ferizaj, Shtime and Malisheva.

It is really a great pleasure we are meeting today to lay the foundation stone of the kindergarten here in Dobërçan/Miresh of Gjilan, a progressive village, which has contributed to added values before and after the wartime, especially Miresh’s diaspora. We felt the fresh air as soon as we stepped here in the village, and this is why it is known as the cleanest village in Kosovo. Well, the village is clean, because the inhabitants are organized, and this picturesque village, stretching on the Perlepnica riverbanks, full of life and youth, will receive today a long-awaited investment.

The new kindergarten will have an area of 708 square meters, intended for 60 children. Three rooms will be for 0 to 2-year-old children, two rooms for 3 to 4-year-old children, a hall for caring staff, administration, kitchen, as well as technical spaces.

Allow me to congratulate you and wish you good luck in the construction of the kindergarten in Miresh.

We will see each other again when the doors of this kindergarten will be opened for the toddlers of this village.

I congratulate all of you!
Thank you and enjoy!
