The first Deputy Prime Minister for European Integration, Development and Dialogue, Besnik Bislimi, was received in the municipality of Bujanoc by Mayor Nagip Arifi. Mr. Bislimi was accompanied to this meeting by the Minister of the Ministry of Education, Science, Technology and Innovation, Arbërie Nagavci.
Mayor Arifi welcomed Deputy Prime Minister Bislimi to his office where they discussed the challenges that the Municipality of Bujanoc lives with every day. The lack of representation and quotas of the Albanian community were among the main concerns raised. Depopulation and the departure of young people are problematic, which must be prevented due to the drastic drop in the number of students in schools and the impact on the lack of trained personnel.
The Deputy Prime Minister stated that we are aware of the numerous existing problems, for which they continuously require symmetry and equality in the treatment of the Albanian community. The internationalization of those issues is necessary to raise awareness of the topics in question and seek equal treatment. From every process we undertake, the fruits and benefits must be reflected in the Presheva Valley, said Deputy Prime Minister Bislimi.
Increasing cooperation and interaction in the initiation of joint projects is important for the Valley. The fund allocated by the Government for the Valley has in mind exactly the achievement of this goal, in order to preserve the cultural and historical tradition of these areas. An important step was taken today, where textbooks were provided for primary school students. Public calls for applications and joint projects, as well as increasing budget support for the Valley, are the Government’s objectives in the near future.
