The first Deputy Prime Minister for European Integration, Development and Dialogue, of the Republic of Kosovo, Besnik Bislimi, hosted the representatives of the IMF Mission, led by Mr. Gabriel Di Bella.

This meeting took place during the mission’s meetings with the authorities in Kosovo. During the meeting, the findings of the mission regarding Kosovo were discussed, which are expected to be published soon. The key emphasis was on the energy crisis and the ways in which the challenges it brings can be overcome but also turn into opportunities for the Government of the Republic of Kosovo.

Further, it was discussed about the fiscal maturity shown by the Government, which distinguishes Kosovo from the rest of the region. This is very good news because the fiscal space created as a result of careful fiscal policies leaves the Government to choose between different investment opportunities.

Deputy Prime Minister Bislimi shared with the IMF Mission details of the various measures that the Government is undertaking to ease the energy crisis for citizens, a part of which will now be financed by the EU budget package for Kosovo, in the amount of 75 million euros.
