The first Deputy Prime Minister for European Integration, Development and Dialogue of the Republic of Kosovo, Besnik Bislimi, hosted the Ambassador of Finland in Kosovo, Matti Nissinen.
Friendship and partnership with Finland extends too many spheres of cooperation between our two countries. Deputy Prime Minister Bislimi expressed gratitude for Finland’s support in the European integration processes. Ambassador Nissinen reaffirmed the steadfast support of the state of Finland in Kosovo’s application for membership in the Council of Europe and the European Union. Kosovo belongs to the European family and step by step moves towards fulfilling the strategic and long-term objective of membership in European structures and organizations.
The meeting also discussed the dialogue process where the Government of the Republic of Kosovo has an active and constructive approach, is committed to principled dialogue, from which the citizens of both countries should benefit. The European proposal for the normalization of relations between Kosovo and Serbia is acceptable as a good basis for further discussions and a solid platform to move forward.
