The first Deputy Prime Minister for European Integration, Development and Dialogue of the Republic of Kosovo, Besnik Bislimi, hosted the new non-resident ambassador of Denmark for Kosovo, Christian Grønbech-Jensen, whom he congratulated on his new position in this first official meeting between them and wished them a fruitful visit and welcome to Kosovo.

The meeting reaffirmed the continuity in consolidating strong cooperative relations between our two countries. Ambassador Grønbech-Jensen expressed Denmark’s support for Kosovo’s application for membership in the Council of Europe and also welcomed the application for membership in the European Union, saying that Kosovo belongs to the European family.

Deputy Prime Minister Bislimi said that an important year ahead awaits us, in which Kosovo’s full commitment to the European integration processes will continue, including the implementation of the Stabilization Association Agreement and obligations arising from the European agenda. The rule of law and transparency of institutions are also in focus throughout this year.

“In Kosovo, Denmark finds a reliable partner, which has coordinated its foreign policy with that of the European Union and maintains the same attitude towards Russian aggression in Ukraine,” said Deputy Prime Minister Bislimi.

On this occasion, Ambassador Grønbech-Jensen mentioned and highly appreciated Kosovo’s commitment to hosting and housing Afghan citizens as well as cooperation with international partners.

At the end of the meeting, the commitment to deepening cooperation in the field of energy, especially green and renewable energy, as well as in the field of justice and economic cooperation, was reiterated.
