The First Deputy Prime Minister for European Integration, Development and Dialogue of the Republic of Kosovo, Besnik Bislimi, hosted in a meeting the Chairman of the Albanian National Council in Serbia, Ragmi Mustafa.
The interests and rights of Albanians in the Presheva Valley were the central topics of discussion. Cooperation between us is important for the protection and advancement of the rights of Albanians. In the principle of reciprocity, the Albanians in the Presheva Valley should have equal rights of representation, just like the Serbs in Kosovo.
The Government of the Republic of Kosovo is concretely committed to supporting the Valley. For the first time, support in the amount of 2 million euros has been budgeted for the Valley, with the aim of supporting youth and education, caring for cultural heritage, national identity and organizations for the protection of the rights of Albanians.
In July of this year, by government decision, 255 thousand euros were allocated for the provision of textbooks for the students of the Presheva Valley. Deputy Prime Minister Bislimi and Mr. Mustafa, discussed the finalization of this payment and the beginning of the distribution of books, on the eve of the beginning of the new school year.
