113th meeting of the Government

The Government of Kosovo held its next meeting in which it approved:

The Energy Strategy of the Republic of Kosovo 2022-2031. The vision of the Energy Strategy is for a stable and integrated energy sector in the pan-European market, which guarantees security of electricity supply and affordability for citizens. It has five strategic objectives and together with their specific goals form the core of our Energy Strategy:
Strategic objective 1: Improving system reliability
Strategic objective 2: Decarbonisation and promotion of renewable energy
Strategic objective 3: Increasing energy efficiency
Strategic objective 4: Strengthening regional cooperation and market functioning
Strategic objective 5: Protection and empowerment of consumers

The Draft Law on Cinematography, which regulates the activity, organization, financing, production, distribution and screening of film works. It aims to encourage creativity, promote, protect, preserve and study cinematographic heritage. The draft law declares cinematographic activity in the Republic of Kosovo as a field of special public interest.

The draft law on amending and supplementing the Law on Energy. This draft law aims to make the necessary changes to the Law on Energy to determine the energy saving measures during the period of emergency measures, the supervision of the implementation of the saving measures as well as the punitive provisions.

The concept-document for Youth which recommends the advancement and empowerment of youth in Kosovo. Based on the last census, the data show that 19.3% of the total population in Kosovo is in the age group of 15-24 years.

The Educational Program for students of the eleventh grade in the Republic of Kosovo in the Field of Defense and Security “Education for Security”. This program aims to educate and train the youth of the Republic of Kosovo, in the field of defense and security. It is planned to be developed with high school students of the Republic of Kosovo.

The decision to reallocate the saved budget funds. The government has approved the decision proposed by the Ministry of Finance, Labor and Transfers for the reallocation of the remaining and saved budget funds in the amount of 4.8 million euros.

Telekom’s request for borrowing, according to which Telekom secures a loan in the amount of 5 million this year and 15 million in the next year. These funds will be used for capital investments in this Public Enterprise.

The decision to ask the president to authorize the Minister of Finance, Labor and Transfers to sign the international financial agreement with the EBRD. The agreement provides Kosovo with a loan worth 23.2 million euros and will be used to increase heating capacities in our country.
