Brussels, 19 November 2015

Prime Minister of the Republic of Kosovo, Isa Mustafa, on the second day of his official visit to Brussels, met today with President of the European Commission, Jean-Claude Juncker, the EU Commissioner for Migration, Home Affairs and Citizenship, Dimitris Avramopoulos and MEP Elmar Brok.

During the meeting Prime Minister Mustafa, where the First Deputy Prime Minister, also the Foreign Minister, Hashim Thaçi and the Minister of European Integration, Bekim Çollaku were present, the central theme was the conclusion of the process of visa liberalization and other European integration processes of Kosovo.

Prime Minister Mustafa informed about the progress in Kosovo, the full commitment of the Government towards the European integration process and economic and social development of the country.

Speaking about the Kosovo Government commitment to advancing the European integration process after the signing and ratification of the SAA in the Assembly, Prime Minister Mustafa, stressed the importance for Kosovo the establishment of contractual relations between the EU and Kosovo.

Prime Minister Isa Mustafa also stressed the need of accelerating liberalization of visas for citizens of Kosovo, seeking support for Kosovo in this process.

“Kosovo has fulfilled the necessary criteria and the citizens of Kosovo, they are the only ones remained in the region who are unable to move freely in the EU countries. We are confident that the citizens of Kosovo will move freely, without visas, in 2016 “, said Prime Minister Mustafa, seeking support for the realization of this right for citizens.

During the meeting, have been discussed other current issues in Kosovo.
