The Prime Minister of the Republic of Kosovo Hashim Thaci during his stay in Brussels met the Secretary of State of the United States of America, Hillary Clinton.
In the meeting it was discussed on the current political developments in Kosovo, the commitment of the Government of the Republic of Kosovo to implement the Euro-Atlantic values and other topics of common interest.
In the meeting held today in Brussels, Prime Minister Thaci informed Secretary Clinton on the latest developments in the Republic of Kosovo, and stressed the commitment of the Republic of Kosovo in the technical dialogue between the Republic of Kosovo and the Republic of Serbia.
During the technical dialogue between the Republic of Kosovo and Serbia, the Government of the Republic of Kosovo had an approach based on Euro-Atlantic values, proving once again that Kosovo is an important factor for peace and stability in the region. Kosovo has built good neighborly relations with all neighbors, including Albania, Macedonia, and Montenegro and has also proven willing to improve neighborly relations with Serbia as two independent states – stated Prime Minister Thaci.
Prime Minister Hashim Thaci during the meeting with U.S. Secretary of State Clinton said that the Government and institutions of Kosovo are in the process of undertaking deep reforms in the field of legislation relating to Euro-Atlantic integrations, electoral reform, rule of law legislation, good governance and economic development.
On her part, U.S. Secretary of State Hillary Clinton had a high regard for the role of Prime Minister of the Republic of Kosovo, Hashim Thaci and of the Government of the Republic of Kosovo in implementing institutional reforms in politics, economics and legislation. In particular, the Secretary of State Clinton had a high regard for the commitment of the Government of Kosovo to technical dialogue between the Republic of Kosovo and Serbia, and added that this commitment proves the Euro-Atlantic vision of Kosovo institutions.
Secretary of State Clinton today during the meeting in Brussels reiterated to Prime Minister Thaci the continued support of the U.S. Government to the Government of Kosovo on its way to strengthen rule of law and order and constitutionality in the entire territory of Kosovo.
